Casa del Mare is a boutique hotel group on the Montenegrin coast, founded in 2009. It runs seven small hotels with around 150 accommodation units, including the new Hedera Residences brand in Morinj, and employs around 30 permanent and over 100 seasonal staff.
We built their HR platform between November 2021 and March 2022: a web-based system that holds every candidate and employee, runs the seasonal hiring, and replaces the spreadsheets the team had outgrown. The project was supported by Montenegro's Ministry of Economic Development under its grant scheme for digitalisation.
The challenge
Casa del Mare hires in waves. Every peak season brings thousands of applicants for seasonal roles across seven hotels, and HR ran all of it, candidates, employees, contracts, salaries, in Excel. Search was slow, records were entered by hand, and the spreadsheet could not keep up with the seasonal spikes. They needed one HR system that matched how the team actually works.
