Our CEO and co-founder, Mihailo Raspopović, represented Codepixel at the AEIF Alumni Summit "Freedom 250: AI Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans", held at Bjelašnica in September.
The summit brought together around 80 US exchange alumni from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo and North Macedonia. Participants came from technology, entrepreneurship, research and a range of other fields.
Over the course of the summit, Mihailo exchanged ideas with founders and professionals from companies and organisations including Bloomteq, FlyRank AI, Inclusio and Microsoft. The discussions covered building AI-first companies and moving from AI adoption to innovation, along with the practical impact AI is already having on businesses across the region.
What this means for Codepixel
For Codepixel, keeping up with what is happening in AI is the baseline. As we build AI into how we research, design, develop and deliver digital products, we also need to understand how companies in other industries are approaching the same shift. Conversations with founders, technical leaders and domain experts give us perspectives we can bring back into our own work and client projects.
The summit also led to several conversations with potential clients and partners. We learned more about what they are building, the problems they are trying to solve and where Codepixel's product and engineering experience could contribute.
Those conversations didn't end at Bjelašnica. We'll be continuing several of them in the coming weeks and exploring where there is a good fit to work together.
Supporting the next ideas coming out of the region
Mihailo was also a jury member for the summit's pitching competition. The teams pitched solutions they had developed during the programme.
The quality of the presentations made selecting the winners anything but straightforward.
Congratulations to Dušan and Hectic Games, and Ena Porča and Starko on their wins. We're looking forward to seeing where both teams take their ideas next.
The Western Balkans is a relatively small region, but there is no shortage of technical talent, industry knowledge and people willing to build.
For Codepixel, being part of this community means exchanging knowledge, building relationships across borders and finding opportunities to create things together.
We came back from Bjelašnica with new perspectives, new connections and several conversations worth continuing.
