Student, staff and parent records live in one secure register instead of scattered files and spreadsheets. Each record carries its documents, enrolment forms, contracts, passports and academic records, with expiry dates the system tracks so nothing lapses quietly. Any record exports straight into structured reports and PDFs when the office needs to send or file something.

Attendance

Attendance tracked in real time, across the whole school.

Teachers mark students present, absent or late, and the dashboard rolls it up live, for the whole school, a year group, a subject or a single student. Activities and clubs get the same treatment as lessons. The patterns that used to take a manual count to spot now surface on their own.

Performance and reporting

Student progress, in reports parents can actually read.

Staff mark progress per subject, strand and objective, and the platform turns it into tailored, structured reports, generated as clean PDFs with the school's own branding, marking scale and signatures. A performance tracker and analytics views show attainment across classes and subjects, so leadership sees trends, not just individual marks.

School calendar

Every event, every role, one calendar.

School events live on a shared calendar with per-role visibility, management, staff, students and parents each see what applies to them. Recurring events, activity schedules and attendance views sit on the same grid, so planning and the day-to-day record finally share one surface.

IT support and inventory

Problems and property stopped living in email.

Staff raise IT tickets with priorities and statuses, updates go out by email, and the support team works from one queue instead of a shared inbox. The same discipline applies to physical property: uniforms and equipment are issued, tracked and returned against student records.

Six years in: modernised mid-flight

Rebuilt the foundations under a product a school uses every day.

Software that lives for six years earns two things: users who depend on it, and a stack that ages underneath them. By 2026 the original foundations were due: framework versions had fallen behind, deploys were manual and the platform had outgrown its first server. The school could not afford downtime, so the modernisation had to happen mid-flight.

Over one focused programme we took the frontend through ten Angular major versions and the backend through four Laravel major versions, in staged, tested hops rather than a risky rewrite. The platform moved to new AWS infrastructure with automated CI/CD deployments, health checks and rollback paths, so every change now ships through a pipeline instead of by hand. Along the way we hardened access controls and closed weak points inherited from the platform's earliest phases.

The product got a matching visual refresh: a token-driven design system where each school's two brand colours drive the whole interface, from navigation to charts, with a calmer, modern look across every screen. Deliberate trade-off: we kept the proven module architecture instead of rewriting it for fashion, churn without user value is not modernisation.

Through all of it, the school kept working. No migration weekend, no data loss, no retraining.
